OK, here's the deal... I'm going to try to post yummy recipes on my blog on Tuesdays. Hey, I needed something to post about today! :~)
Also this is my 100Th post! So, Happy 100Th to me! ;~) I've enjoyed posting on this and letting my family in on my life. It's hard to be so far away... But doing this blog helps me feel closer to them! :~)
Anyway, back to Tasty Tuesday! :~) I figured that since I've gotten better at cooking that I could share some of my recipes that I've enjoyed making! For the first posting of recipes I've chosen a tried and true one... Every time we have this recipe it's always a hit! It comes from the Taste of Home's Cooking for 2 magazine... I've told my sister about this one but never shared the recipe, so here it is!
Chicken Alfredo Stromboli
1 French bread baguette (5 ounces), halved lengthwise
6 ounces boneless skinless chicken breast, cubed
1 teaspoon olive oil
4 teaspoons butter, softened, divided
1/3 cup canned mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Place bread, cut side up, on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil 4-6 in. from the heat for 2-3 Minutes or until lightly toasted; set aside.
In a small skillet, saute chicken in oil and 1teaspoon butter until juices run clear; drain. Add the mushrooms, salt, garlic powder and pepper; cook for 1-2 minutes or until heated through.
In a small bowl, combine the sour cream, Parmesan cheese and remaining butter; spread over bread halves. Top each with 2/3 cup chicken mixture. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Yield: 2 servings
It'll take maybe a little more than half an hour to fix after you get used to the recipe... Or at least I had to get used to the recipe before I could do it in that time! :~} Maybe it's just me! ;~) Hope you like this recipe! :~)

Piano!!!! :~D
The title really says it all... I just got a piano! :~) Some church members were kind enough to give us their piano that they didn't use. I'm very grateful! :~) I wrote a couple of posts ago that Jamey was looking to get me a piano... He mentioned that he was looking for one to this church member and they said that we could have theirs! :~) I've already played quite a few pieces on it... It's in tune! It weighs a LOT... So Jamey got some men from church to help him bring it here. Here are some pics of my new piano! :~) I got it all clean and bathed it in furniture polish so it shines!

Yay! A video! :~)
I must say that Jamey is a genius! He fixed this video and made it able to be uploaded onto Blogger! I took this a day or so after I wrote about Munchkin and the frog. She dragged the frog into the living room and I grabbed our camera! Our camera is cool in the fact that it can take video too! It can't do sound... At one point in the video Munchkin is meowing, but you can't hear it. It's a downside, but hay, at least it takes the video! This is a few minutes long... You don't have to watch it all, just the first minute or so and you get the idea.I forgot to tell you about what Jamey did for me a few days ago. :~) I was feeling blah and didn't have a good idea for supper. Anyway, he offered to make supper... He got some steak along with salad and made biscuits and also made some corn. He even got me some beautiful flowers! :~) Aren't they pretty? He also got me some cheesecake! :~p I got a pretty amazing guy! :~) He is so sweet to me! :~) Anyway, my supper coordinating skills are still fairly bad, so if any of you know a good recipe I'd love to try it out! :~)
Tonight we went to the Mauldin Fest... Kinda like a small fair. Just a lot of vendors and people with booths. Then there was a few kid rides... And of course what fest would be complete without a guy that gets lifted into the air by balloons! WHAT? Yeah, we got to see that! This was his first appearance in SC... So that was neat but the balloons, now those were pretty impressive. Those balloons were HUGE! It took $5,000 worth of helium to fill those balloons! I've never seen anything like it! I have some pics, but they are on my cell phone and I can't get them on the computer... However, with the magic of the computer age... A way to see it! They also had a hot air balloon to follow him to make sure he got down OK. Last time I saw they were heading into the sunset! :~) That was definitely something you don't see everyday!

Recipe!!
Thursday night was a very fun evening. The morning wasn't so much... Jamey and I had to call all the church members to let them know that the funeral was on Friday. I also had to call to get people to make food for the dinner. The day was hectic and a little stressful, but the play at the end of the day let us escape for about an hour and a half. It started with a guy that wanted to share this vinyl record experience with us. When he started the record all the characters came to life... It was set in the twenties and was just a little on the corny side, but it was fun. The theater was so big! It even had the boxes up near the top, with thick burgundy curtains! :~)
I'm going to be like my sister in her blog... Give a recipe! ;~) Friday was the funeral so I had to make some of the food. I had the ham from Easter (which I got at Aldis) in my freezer that had yet to be eaten. So I got the brilliant idea that I would take ham. But not just the ham... I looked for a glaze online and found this one:
BROWN SUGAR GLAZE
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 Tsp. Mustard
1/8 Tsp. Cinnamon
3 Tbsp. Water
Mix well. Spread on ham. :~p
I had the ham sliced already, so I laid the pieces on a cookie sheet and slathered each piece with the glaze and baked it for about 10 minutes or until the ham was hot and the glaze was starting to bubble. When the dinner started everyone couldn't get enough of the ham! They thought it was a Honey Baked ham! :~) That was the most compliments I've gotten on any food that I've brought for church gatherings. I also made a cake and used my Mommy's frosting recipe and that got rave reviews too.
Jamey did the funeral service. It was his first time doing anything like that so he was a little nervous! However, quite a few people came up and said it was the best funeral service they had been to. That made him feel better! :~) Hopefully he won't have a lot of practice with that particular service.
This week we've been keeping busy going to gospel meetings. This Saturday is the marriage seminar... I'm really looking forward to that! :~) I've been trying to keep busy cleaning this house! :~) I'm going to be sewing a little too... I got some fabric from Walmart that I'm looking forward to making into a shirt and a dress. :~)
