Well, I survived the weekend...
Friday night after Jamey got home from work we went out to eat at the Red Sun Buffet, my favorite Chinese restaurant, and then went out and took Seth on a tour of Memphis. We stopped at the place Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and then drove past Beale Street. Since it was about 90 degrees outside and Friday nights are always crowded on Beale, we decided to just do a drive by. We got home about 9pm and Jamey and Seth stayed up till about 1am talking.
Saturday we all got up a little before 7am cause we had to be at Sarah's apartment to help her move out at 8:30. When we got there most of the stuff was already moved downstairs. Only the real heavy stuff was left. It only took about an hour to get things moved, then it took another hour to situate everything. We left at about 11:30. Since we were in Henderson we had to have a drive by tour of Freed-Hardeman college. It's not incredibly big, but it looks nice. On our way back home we stopped in Jackson to look at some stores... Yes, I was with two guys and they stopped at a comic book store. We all checked out the GoodWill and a bargain basement place in Jackson. I had to stop at the Hancock Fabrics to take advantage of some sales. We didn't get home till about 3pm. It was a lot of fun though. We didn't have time to take a nap before we had to get showered and dressed for a singing thing his parents were doing that night with their church. His mom had some finger food made for the event and it started at 7pm. Everyone ate before they sang, so it took a while to get to the singing. I enjoyed it, it reminded me of my family getting together and singing. Jamey led quite a few of the songs. We ended up doing that for about half an hour before everyone had to be somewhere. We didn't have anything going on, but we couldn't stay too late cause it takes an hour to get back home. After we got home Jamey, Seth and I stayed up talking till about 1am again.
Sunday morning it was tough getting out of bed! I made waffles for breakfast. Seth decided to stay until after church, luckily the preacher that was preaching was one that keeps you awake. After the service the three of us and about 12 other people decided to go out to eat. We went to a place called O'Charley's. It's a nice place and the food was great. One of the things I noticed about it was it played oldies over the radio. The thing that wasn't that great was the service. Our waitress was mad about something and she took it out on us. We think it was the crowd that upset her cause she rolled her eyes when we mentioned how many would be coming. I understand about having a large crowd come into McD's and being mad, cause there it's the speed that counts, but at a sit down restaurant? Not only that but her tip was guaranteed! Yep, they had a service charge on the check. What a rip off! I can understand giving a tip, but being forced to pay one? Come on! Well, she didn't get any tips from our group other than the service charge. We got home and Seth left for Texas. He might come back in a few weeks, on his way back to Kentucky. I didn't get to do my shopping Thursday cause of the doctors appointment, so I had to do it Sunday afternoon. I went by myself, cause Jamey wanted a nap. I got home and we had to go to church. They were having a going away party for the family going to Hungary, so we stayed for that. When we got home from church there was a football game on TV, so Jamey watched that while I took a nap on the couch. I was so tired that that nap didn't interfere with me getting a good nights sleep later! After that was done, we went to bed. With Seth here we didn't get a lot of sleep, so we went to bed slightly early last night. :~)
I must have been exhausted from the weekend, cause I didn't even notice when Jamey turned off the alarm this morning. He got all ready for work without waking me. I usually am kind of a light sleeper too. Well, I have to tidy up my house after that weekend, so I better get going!
