OK, quite a lot has been going on in the last 2 days... Jamey and I were out all day and I'm kinda tired. I need to get dinner ready for tomorrow so I'll try tomorrow to post more about the busyness that has been our lives since yesterday. Stay tuned... :~)
I'm not sure what I'm going to talk about today... But as my family knows, I always think of something! :~}
On other notes... Snowmen don't live in SC for a reason. What was once a vibrant snowman is now just a shadow of his former flaky self. They both are shrinking... They probably won't survive the weekend. Very grim diagnosis: Heat wave... Fatal to all snowmen. What was a winter wonderland last Sunday is promising to be a spring lovers dream... They are calling for 70 degree weather come Friday. Not that I'm not looking forward to the warmth, I just find it hard to believe that it goes to such extremes! I guess I'll get used to it one of these days! :~) Unfortunately, my snowmen won't have that chance... ;~)And it's all my fault, I know! :~) Well, I had to get back in the swing of things and to tell the truth I'm not completely there yet... But here goes!
This is a summary of all that happened at lectureship... I'm going to try to get the notes that I wrote, but that will be for another post! :~}
Let's see... Freed lectureship! :~) We got to Jamey's parents house around 5:30pm their time. We left at about 7:30am our time, so it took about 11 hours! We were able to relax on Saturday. The only thing going on then was a dinner with Jamey's family that went really well and we all enjoyed it. We also had a delayed Christmas gift exchange.
Sunday was church. We went to Jamey's parents church for morning service and also went with them to the nursing home service at 2:30pm. We didn't get a chance to have dust collect cause after that Jamey, Jason and I went to Memphis to visit our old church. It was a blast seeing everyone again and we also got to stay for a Super Bowl party at one of the members houses. We had a good time in the sense that we enjoyed it but also were bummed out cause we knew we weren't going to be back in a while. We didn't end up getting home till about midnight! :~) Which, in retrospect, was a bad thing cause we had to get up early the next morning!!!
Monday we - Jamey, Jason and I - started by getting up at 6:30am so we could get a good start on all the lectures. We didn't leave the house till 7:30 and didn't get to Freed till 9. We were able to catch a good lecture before chapel. Then after chapel we were free to go to the dining hall... That was an experience! I had fun listening to Jamey and Jason reminisce about how bad the food used to be and how spoiled the kids were now cause they got pizza everyday! :~) Our schedule was full from then on with lectures and workshops. We got to eat at Bell's for supper which is like the social highlight of Henderson. The food was good, and the service was friendly! :~) We didn't get home until late this night too because we stayed for the congregational singing and the late lecture. I had an absolute blast!!! :~) I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Tuesday was more of the same except for the fact that Jason wasn't with us. I got to sit in on a ladies lecture which was really good and recommended by a friend... That friend was the lady from Memphis that helped me get my driver's license and was someone that I connected with when we were living there. Anyway, she was there at the lecture so I got to catch up with her a little bit. That was the highlight of the day for me! :~) Back to the lecture though, the lady was really interactive with the crowd and spoke on the Psalms... About prayer, praise and getting to know who God is. It was a three part lecture that went on from Tuesday till Thursday. I enjoyed it and learned a lot! :~) We stayed for the congregational singing, late lecture and also got to stay for the chorale. At the end of the chorale singing they invited all the previous members to come up and sing the last song... Jamey used to sing with them so he enjoyed going up and singing!! :~)
Something that I also got to experience was an open forum... I did not know that there were so many people that could comment on the same topic and say exactly the same thing as the previous commenter. :~} It was interesting and they got into some very controversial stuff. Jamey went up to comment on one of the days and he used something that I had said to him... There was an argument about Christian contemporary music and if we could sing along because these were not Christians that made the music and we should not participate in their false worship. I made the comment to Jamey that if that were true we really couldn't sing almost all the songs in the hymnal cause they weren't written by Christians! Anyway, that made me smile! :~)
Wednesday was a little shorter for the simple fact that it was church night and Jamey's Mom was making some deliciousness that is Louisiana Lasagna! :~p We got to listen to a few good lectures and the open forum then had to leave in order to make it to Jamey's parents house in time for church!
Thursday was a little like Wednesday we got to go to chapel, eat in the cafeteria and hear a few great lectures... However we had to go before open forum because we were going to eat supper with Jamey's family at Shoney's. It was mostly cause Jamey's sister Rachel could only make it that day... We had a good time and I got to talk to his sisters a little more.
It was very difficult to leave Freed on Thursday cause I knew that we weren't going to be going back. I ended up taking quite a few notes while we were there and got the good side of college life. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and got to imagine what it might have been like had I gone to college... Course if I had gone I wouldn't be where I am today so I'm glad I didn't go, but still I couldn't help thinking about it! :~}
Jamey and I also got to go to the book fair that went on all week... It was a good book fair and also a money pit! :~) Jamey couldn't come out of there without spending some money! Hey, when you're surrounded by a lot of great books written by the brotherhood how could you not spend a lot of money? ;~) Another one of the things that I got to do was meet quite a few of Jamey's old college friends and also got to see a few of the people I knew that were going there.
Friday was spent relaxing before having to be on the road for an extended period of time. We just chilled with Jamey's family. We watched some movies and had to pack... I tried not to have our stuff explode all over the floor, but to no avail! So I spent some of the day doing laundry and packing what I could. We definitely left with more than what we came with!!! :~) All in all we had a great time and I can't wait till the next time! :~D
We had a very uneventful trip back and got home in record time. I'm still trying to get back into the schedule that I had for myself before we left... I'm doing well with the meals, it's just the chores that I'm not liking right now! Hopefully this will get me out of the writers block that I've been having. I'll try to write more later... I have ladies Bible study to write about and then just life in general! It's getting late and I have a busy week ahead so I should start thinking about going to bed! :~)
But sweet! :~) Jamey and I just got back from spending time with his family... We also had a blast going to the Freed-Hardeman lectureship. I enjoyed hearing all those great speakers and I got to take some notes... I'll try to let you in on what it was that I heard and let you read some of my notes! :~) I'm exhausted, we spent all day in the car and tomorrow is church... I already have things unpacked, but I need to go get ready for bed! ;~}
Just a quick blurb to say that we'll be leaving for TN tomorrow for the lectureship Freed-Hardeman is having. We'll be staying with Jamey's family so we can get as much time with them as possible while we're in west TN. I'm looking forward to pretending I'm at college for a week. I'm also looking forward to seeing Jamey's family again... Haven't seen them since at least the middle of last year.
We'll be leaving about 7 am tomorrow morning... Yeah, I'm excited to get up that early. Can you read the sarcasm? Anyway, I've been busy today trying to do laundry and pack. The hardest part about packing is that I always have this feeling that I'm forgetting something... And I usually do forget it. What's worse is the fact that I don't remember about it until we're almost there! :~}
I have to put this in here... You know that! ;~) There are some precious pics of my nephew on my sister's blog! :~D Well, I should probably go and get the dishes put away... And then fold what little is left of the laundry when it gets done.
I just needed a title for this post... :~} Not that much has happened since the last post including the snow. What I mean by that is that there was no snow and everyone went around town like headless chickens for no reason! :~o Anyway, on the flip side of that coin we have today... I normally have a really hard time with cold and if it's not 80 degrees then I'm wearing something under a short sleeved shirt. Although I exaggerate a little it's not entirely false. So why, on this 22ND day of JANUARY am I comfortable going outside in short sleeves and no coat???? I have to say this weather is just a little crazy... (Either that or I'm getting better with cold weather. :~O) However, I do enjoy when it's unexpectedly warm like this. :~) Even though I enjoy it, I find myself hating the fact that I do enjoy it so much because it shouldn't be this warm outside at this time of year! Ahhh, the northern girl in me wants to rebel but she won't because she's having too much fun in the warmth! :~}
On Tuesday I led a Bible study at church. This is a big deal for me because I usually try to fade into the background when it comes to leading of any kind... There are only two ladies that do the class so they go back and forth all the time. I just thought since I am the preacher's wife that I should step out of my comfort zone and help out. I found it just a little odd that the first time I did teach, the part of the book that we are studying was all about how we need more people to get up and lead in the church! :~) I was so nervous! All the ladies thought I did a good job for my first time, but I had a lot of pauses and the things that I had said in my mind before going to class completely left me! We didn't finish the section we were on so I'm going to do it next month too. The only way to get better at something is to continue doing it! :~) I'm hoping that next month after I teach I can blog about the section covered!
My hair has gotten longer... It's down to the middle of my back now. That said, I've found a new love... In the form of Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship shampoo and conditioner!! :~) I saw it on commercials that it's supposed to be formulated for the longer hair. It smells so good! :~) And it makes my hair silkier than it has ever been. I actually want to wear it down more! :~) I also purchased the split ends serum that is in the same family with the shampoo and conditioner... In order to get the full effect of what the products can do. At any rate, you're looking at one happy consumer! :~)
Well, I think that's all for now... We'll be traveling next Friday to go spend time with Jamey's family and go to the Freed-Hardeman lectureship. That will be fun and I'm looking forward to being back in that area again... Hard to believe it's been a year! :~) So if I don't get to my blog for a while, console yourself with my sister's blog... She's been trying to post everyday! :~) A difficult challenge and one that I hopefully will be doing one of these days! :~)
OK, I admit... I've changed my views somewhat as I've aged. Something that I have on my brain right now is the question of clothing in Church. Now, I went to a Baptist church for Sunday school for about 9 years... I'm not a Baptist by any standards we just had some friends there since my sister and I both went to private school there for a few years. Now in that particular church you didn't come to church on Sunday morning in anything less than a shirt and tie if you're a guy or less than a shirt and skirt if you're a girl. You were told the dress code and expected to follow it. They had a VERY strict dress code...
This is how I grew up thinking that if you went to church you had on your best clothes... Nothing wrong with that at all. However, there was something inherently wrong with my attitude about it over the years. After a while of that I would look at the people that weren't dressed as nice as me and think they should have dressed better. I didn't realize at the time that my attitude towards these people was wrong.
Fast forward a few years... I met Jamey. At that point I had started to get to know the people behind the casual clothing, but still had those thoughts about dress. When I went down to Memphis to visit with Jamey and his family - I can't remember how it all happened - one Sunday night I wore my jeans to Sunday night service! I felt uncomfortable to be dressed so casual in church... To make a long story short, I realized after a while that while man does look on the outside which is why we should dress modestly... God doesn't. He looks on the inside and if I'm thinking about the person that I think should dress better to church and not giving God my all during service then the person dressed casual isn't the problem... I am.
Now I still dress up for Sunday morning service but my attitude is totally different. I no longer think that those people should dress better, as long as it's modest I'm just glad to see them at church! :~)
I know it's been awhile since I last wrote... We have been a little busy. Jamey did another wedding yesterday! It was a small affair and it was an outdoor wedding... It wouldn't have been so bad had it not been about 40 degrees outside at the time! :~o I was even wearing my warm dress and cape! Everyone was all bundled up and I was loosing feeling in my feet, but it was a lovely ceremony and it didn't last all that long. After the wedding we went to the reception which was inside... So we all warmed up! :~)
Well, with all this buzz about the election I totally forgot to post something about Jamey's birthday on here! :~o Since his birthday was Sunday and he had to work, we celebrated on Saturday! 
It worked out well, cause he was able to sleep in and relax. We got up about 10 am and started with the lemonade cake with candles! :~) Then it was present open time!! He helped me pick out a few of the presents, but I got one that he didn't know about... I went to Wal-mart and picked up the new Three Stooges DVD that's out now. I knew he wanted it, I wanted to have at least one present that he didn't know about! :~P There was one present that didn't come until about 3pm that day... 
It was the one that I had got from sniping a guy on e-Bay. I was hoping to wrap it, but it did come on Saturday so Jamey could play with it! :~D After that we just chilled. I made fried chicken, potatoes, peas, and biscuits for dinner. :~P We went to Wal-mart for a while then came home and watched a movie. :~)
There aren't as many pics as there might have been had I not had the video camera in my hand! I decided this was a good opportunity to use my birthday present... Yeah, I taped his birthday presents with my birthday present! :~} Oh, I posted some pics if you want to see pics from my birthday... There's not enough room on here for all these pics! :~)
Sunday was Jamey's actual birthday, but we had a lot going on and barely had any time to sit down... First there was service, then we went out to eat at Ryan's. After that we went home to relax a little before we had a wedding shower to go to and Jamey had a business meeting after that. And after all that was over there was evening service... So we were kinda busy that day and too busy to have done anything for Jamey's birthday! :~)
This will kinda be short and sweet cause we have church in about 5 minutes. Jamey has a new blog that is dedicated to being a Bible based blog. It's called Biblical Ramblings. I think it's really good, course I'm not biased at all! :~) I plan on writing more once all the crazy calms down... We've been having a lot going on since my birthday and will continue to be busy until at least next Monday! :~o
This is just a little check in... Nothing big has happened in the past week. The only thing that has been a constant is that during Monday through Friday of last week Jamey and I were both sick! Yeah, how exciting are we? :~) It was one of those nasty stomach bugs that hang on and on... It was good in a way cause it kept us indoors and away from anything that resembled spending money! :~)
This morning Jamey is off to Charlotte for a preachers meeting. It's a good way to meet more of the area preachers. Jamey is trying to get me something nice for my birthday. He didn't get one thing that he really wanted for me... A real piano! Isn't that just so sweet? I already have a keyboard but Jamey knows how much I'd love a real piano... :~)He saw on-line that there was a piano in good condition and here is the best part, it was free! :~O Unfortunately, someone else beat Jamey to it. I'll just have to wait on the piano for now. You know I would have liked the piano but it's really the thought that makes me smile! :~)
Yesterday was our pot luck at church... I made chili. I was counting on it being a little cooler than it actually was... It had been feeling like fall last week, but could it stay that way? NO! :~( I was talking to someone last night and they said that November might feel like fall! :~O Great, that will be the time I'll be thinking that there should be snow on the ground! :~p However, after visiting my family I'll probably be thankful for the warm weather.
This Saturday I'm planning a young adults get together... Planning is not something I'm incredibly good at, but I'll do my best! :~) We're going to eat at a really good seafood place then go bowling! I haven't been bowling since the first time Jamey came up to see me a year and a half ago! :~o There is this couple that is going to be going to Germany... The husband is in the military and they are going to be leaving around the 8th, so I wanted to do something before they left. Hopefully we'll all have a good time! :~)
I've started sewing and made a dress. I'll have a pic a little later. It's cute and it looks like some of the stuff that is out now... At least I think so! :~) Course my taste isn't the best! :~o I'm going to do some more sewing this week... So I can have more clothes, just what I need! :~} It's stretchy material so I was using a stretch stitch, but my needle was a little dull! I didn't realize it until I was half-way done and furious at the machine cause it was causing holes in the fabric every now and then. After I figured out that was the problem it was a piece of cake to finish. :~} I have one more dress and two tops that I want to finish... :~)
I got to drive all the way up to Greensboro NC yesterday... A three hour trip that is tedious in and of itself. This trip however, was made even more difficult with inclement weather. About an hour into the trip I had to slow down to 50 in order to see things ahead of me... It really didn't worry me as this was the kind of weather that I drove going from Memphis to Nashville when we were moving... That and I had the constant spray from the moving truck that Jamey was driving in front of me. Anyway, I focused on the car in front of me... We made it in the time we figured and the trip back was uneventful.
I love to drive but I don't like to drive in nasty weather when not everyone has their headlights on! Not only is it kind of silly not to put them on but it's dangerous. I could barely see the road let alone the cars that actually had their lights on. I'm glad I was able to do it though cause it gave me some experience... Now the only weather I have to conquer is snow! I'm a little wary of that though as the last time I tried to drive in new snow I almost hit a stop sign! :~O
Alright enough about me... I'm not going to write a lot about my nephew as my sister has put more pics of the little guy up on her blog and I don't want to take away from her blog. That being said I can now dispense with the gushing! :~) Of course I'm not biased in any way ;~) but I have to say that he is one of the cutest babies that I've seen! I can't wait to see him in December! He looks like he is getting bigger every day... And he might have a little bit of blond hair.
Munchkin is out and about today. I've been keeping her in the bathroom at night so that nothing will get broken at night! :~) She meows for me a lot. She is very personable for a cat, course we never had indoor cats in Ohio. She seems to have taken to a frog I got at Claire's recently. She plays with it and drags it places she goes. I'll try to get pics of that but it might be hard, the only evidence that I know she has been playing with it is it's conspicuous presence in other parts of the house! :~) Right now she is dragging it like it's her kitten.
Shorty is finally figuring out that he has to bark to go outside and that outside is the only place to go to the bathroom. It won't be long before he can be out all day! :~) He's growing a lot. He's now up to around 12 pounds... He won't get too much bigger.
Birthday season is upon us. What I mean is this... My brother Ira started it by having his birthday this past Sunday. I'm the next in line with a birthday in October, then comes Philip in November and to close out the year is Sarah in December. Lydia's is in March so by next spring we will all be another year older. I'm not looking forward to mine this year for some reason. I'll be turning 24 and for some reason that sounds old to me. I'm no longer in my early 20s I'm in my mid 20s. Oh well, time marches on! :~)
One last thing before I give your eyes a rest... I didn't mean to make this so long, but I'm glad I got back to actually writing something longer than a post-it note! :~) The gospel meeting here went very well. Jamey preached on the different things we do in worship. Sunday morning was Communion and Jesus' death on the cross. Sunday night was prayer. Monday night was singing and Tuesday night was giving. Quite a few people from the neighboring congregations came and Tuesday night we had 80 people. :~) Everyone thought that Jamey did an exceptional job!
I still have that sewing to do... I plan on working on it this month and having it done by the time my birthday rolls around. Kinda like a birthday present to myself! :~) I picked out 2 shirts and 2 dresses for the colder weather. Tomorrow I have to clean... Jamey doesn't care whether or not it's really clean but I always feel really good when the house is spotless! :~)
I think I'm over my blahs, I think it had something to do with the hurricanes that are coming through... i.e. The headaches and nasty weather. Jamey loves a nice drizzly day, but when you are from a state that comes third as the cloudiest state you look for the sun shine... So the days that are overcast and rainy are considered normal and oh so nasty! :~)
One of the things that helped the blahs is the fact that I have beautiful purple morning glories on one of the bushes outside!! :~) This is the best I could do with a picture... They were all hiding behind the leaves. They have since gotten more flowers, but aren't they just so pretty? :~) Another thing that might have helped with the blahs is the fact that I got my house all clean and I got to go up to Charlotte NC to take one of the church members to her doctor. I always enjoy a long car ride with good company! :~) In the middle of the month I'll be going up to Greensboro NC to take her to a different doctor and it will be a longer trip... :~) 
Jamey's cousin Seth got here about 8pm last Thursday night and stayed through the weekend. It was nice to have someone over. We had a good time just chillin' here and going out doing stuff. We went to the park right near our house and played mini-golf and went to a few stores that were geared for the gamer in you. :~) 
Here's a random picture of Munchkin... She loves to be on the sink or counter or dresser or anything that is up high and she's not supposed to be! :~} She is allowed to be on the sink in the bathroom and on my dresser, but she likes to knock things over... Yesterday she knocked over the mirror in my sewing room. Luckily, it didn't break but it scared her silly! I've never seen her fur stand that high before! :~) Anyway, she likes to be up in the sink when I'm washing my hands or in this case putting my makeup on! :~) She loves to lick my nose, so I don't even know why I put makeup on my nose anymore! :~)I'm feeling a little blah right now... Again! :~p The tropical storm is giving me a headache and I found out the other day that we aren't going to get any kind of rainfall from it! :~O We need rain too.
So here are more pics of little Xander to show off! :~) I tried to talk to my Mommy tonight but they went down to Rising Sun, IN to see him! :~) I wish I could go... My time will come! ;~) 
Yeah, I've been busy for the last week. I had to clean house... Something I hate to do anyway, but this time I had to really clean. It had been a while and it was getting scary. :~O I did, however, find out that Mr. Clean will clean almost anything! :~) I also found out that if I can't sleep cleaning is good to get me tired! :~}
Thursday I was invited to go to one of the ladies homes... She's my age. One other lady came too... She is just a few years older. Anyway, we had a blast! :~) We talked the entire night. Had pizza and pop... A volatile combination for me! ;~) I was out till midnight talking and having fun. This is how I found out cleaning helps when you can't sleep... I got home and kept thinking of things that I had to do yet so I got up and did them! :~) This is not normal behavior for me except that Jamey's friend and his girlfriend were coming over the next day!
I got up and started cleaning on Friday. Not my preferred way to start a morning, but I wasn't letting anyone see a dirty house! :~) I cleaned, showered and barely got done with that when they got here. We had a good time... We first went to get pizza at one of the buffets here in Greenville. Then we decided to walk around the mall! :~) I always love to that even if I don't get anything! There was a makeover going on, but we decided not to do that (we don't need no makeover, we're pretty enough... Right? ;~)) After that we went back to the house and talked for a while. We then went to show them Jamey's office and the Greenville park downtown. It was a nice day, except for the hot, so walking in the pretty downtown was nice. We ate dinner at a Subway close to the park... By the way, I recommend the Sweet onion chicken! :~P We then spent the rest of the night watching this one baseball player goof up! :~) The Greenville team lost, but it was a fun time, we also got to see some fireworks after! :~)
Right now I'm waiting for that barbecued chicken to get done for tomorrow. I'll just have to warm it up when we get back from church. Today has been busy too. I went with one of the ladies from church to pick out flowers and decorations for the bridal shower tomorrow at church. After that I had to arrange the flowers... I think I did a good job. I'll take pictures! :~) When I was done with that I had to make Ham puffs for the shower as well! :~) Now after these get done it's off to the shower and bed just to start the busy all over again! :~)
I did give a cat a bath today, along with a dog. It's Saturday so it's their usual bath day. They both don't like it, but (at least with Shorty) they need it. I even bought this dog spray so he smells like a spring breeze when he gets done... Ok, a spring breeze that had to go through dog to get to your nose... But still, it's better than just dog. [=-er'[;p4e3 Munchkin says "hi"... I'm on a laptop so she occasionally will walk across... I try to keep her off it, but sometimes she sneaks through! :~) I got her a new toy at the dollar store that is a pole with a sting and fish that dangle from it. So far she likes it and Jamey likes to watch her play with it!
Thursday we went to camp to hear one of our members speak. He did a really good job. Shorty was a little more impatient this time, but he did fine. They had costume night and I wish I would have known... I have this Civil war era dress and hoop skirt I would have worn... Well, it's still in Ohio and I would have had to cut out a kidney to fit in it again but I would have so worn it! :~) It made me miss being at camp and envying my brother who just got back from camp. Maybe next year I'll be able to do it again.
Something else we did today was go visit with some of our church members. We ate with them and spent the afternoon talking. That was fun. Tomorrow is pot luck at church, so we bought a lasagna to take there... I'll cook it later tonight and just heat it up tomorrow.
Monday will be the first day for Shorty to be out all day... I'm trying the crate method to help him understand that outside is the only place to "go". He has been doing well, so I'll see about it on Monday. Hopefully if this works I can start on other things like sit, stay and no. Anyway, I think that's all that has happened here lately... If I think of something else I'll just have to post again! ;~)
Thursday night was a very fun evening. The morning wasn't so much... Jamey and I had to call all the church members to let them know that the funeral was on Friday. I also had to call to get people to make food for the dinner. The day was hectic and a little stressful, but the play at the end of the day let us escape for about an hour and a half. It started with a guy that wanted to share this vinyl record experience with us. When he started the record all the characters came to life... It was set in the twenties and was just a little on the corny side, but it was fun. The theater was so big! It even had the boxes up near the top, with thick burgundy curtains! :~)
I'm going to be like my sister in her blog... Give a recipe! ;~) Friday was the funeral so I had to make some of the food. I had the ham from Easter (which I got at Aldis) in my freezer that had yet to be eaten. So I got the brilliant idea that I would take ham. But not just the ham... I looked for a glaze online and found this one:
BROWN SUGAR GLAZE
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 Tsp. Mustard
1/8 Tsp. Cinnamon
3 Tbsp. Water
Mix well. Spread on ham. :~p
I had the ham sliced already, so I laid the pieces on a cookie sheet and slathered each piece with the glaze and baked it for about 10 minutes or until the ham was hot and the glaze was starting to bubble. When the dinner started everyone couldn't get enough of the ham! They thought it was a Honey Baked ham! :~) That was the most compliments I've gotten on any food that I've brought for church gatherings. I also made a cake and used my Mommy's frosting recipe and that got rave reviews too.
Jamey did the funeral service. It was his first time doing anything like that so he was a little nervous! However, quite a few people came up and said it was the best funeral service they had been to. That made him feel better! :~) Hopefully he won't have a lot of practice with that particular service.
This week we've been keeping busy going to gospel meetings. This Saturday is the marriage seminar... I'm really looking forward to that! :~) I've been trying to keep busy cleaning this house! :~) I'm going to be sewing a little too... I got some fabric from Walmart that I'm looking forward to making into a shirt and a dress. :~)
Well, not really... A friend from church got some tickets from a friend of his that didn't want to go. So the friend from church asked Jamey if he and I would like to go! :~) Of course he said yes... It's hard to say no to free tickets to a Broadway show that cost $63 each! 
I can't wait! It's an actual Broadway play that's touring! We will have to dress up a little, that should be fun. Don't worry I'll definitely tell you how it went! :~)
It'll get our minds off what has happened here lately... One of our church members has had Alzheimer's for a while and just recently caught double pneumonia. Anyway, he died last night. Jamey gets to do part of the funeral, something that he has never done before.
On a lighter note, there are gospel meetings coming up next week and a singing night at a nearby congregation on Friday. :~) Just to give you an idea of what our week will be like... A funeral, then Singing tomorrow, Sunday there's an open house for a handicapped member, Monday we're going to the gospel meeting in Slater, Tuesday I have a ladies study to go to, Wednesday is church, Thursday we're going to the gospel meeting in Clinton, Saturday there's a marriage seminar at Augusta Rd., Sunday is church and then there is another gospel meeting that week. Yeah, we keep busy! :~)
